Vicki Stone

Vicki Stone, born in Chicago in 1949, is a folk artist whose sole inspiration is derived from motherhood, family, and a strong, deep-rooted spiritual ideology as a practicing Orthodox Jew.

Stone’s artwork blends images of contemporary life with old religious stories and Hebrew teachings. She often incorporates text as a way to further relay her Judaic beliefs. Stone often stretches beyond the boundaries of the canvas to include additional materials and hand-painted cutouts. Bursting with a vivid spectrum of color that is further complemented by her intricate brushwork and attention to detail, her work exudes the perpetual joy inspired by true religious conviction.
